❤️ Why We Picked Lodge at Five Oaks

We booked Lodge at Five Oaks because we were looking for a convenient place to stay for a quick weekend trip. Our plans were more about shopping, restaurants, and enjoying some of the attractions around Sevierville and Pigeon Forge than spending the weekend exploring the Great Smoky Mountains.

The location was exactly what we were looking for. Tanger Outlets is nearby, there are plenty of restaurants in the area, and attractions such as SkyLand Ranch are an easy drive away. For a short getaway where we wanted to spend more time out exploring and less time driving around, the location made a lot of sense.

We also booked the hotel at the last minute and paid $163 for our one-night stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, which was important to us since we weren’t planning to spend much time at the hotel.

🛏️ Rooms & What to Expect

We booked Lodge at Five Oaks at the last minute and were assigned Room 126 on the first floor. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and for a one-night stay it gave us exactly what we needed.

There is one thing we think future guests should know when choosing a first-floor room. Rooms 120 through 126 are located directly around the pool area. When we opened the blinds in Room 126, we were looking directly toward the pool, with a pool table just outside the room.

That location may be convenient if you want quick access to the pool, but it also means you won’t have the same privacy or view that you might expect from a room farther away from the pool.

Only two of the first-floor rooms in this section have balconies, so if having a balcony is important to you, we’d recommend asking about the exact room location before booking.

Lodge at Five Oaks has the amenities you’d expect from a family-friendly hotel, including an outdoor pool, complimentary breakfast, fire pits, and a fitness center. For a short stay, there’s enough here to keep you comfortable without making the hotel feel like the main destination of your trip.

The outdoor pool is one of the more noticeable features of the property, especially if you’re staying in one of the first-floor rooms around the pool area. Since our room was Room 126, we were right next to the pool during our stay.

🔥 Fire Pits

The hotel also offers outdoor fire pits, which can be a nice place to relax in the evening after spending the day shopping or visiting attractions. Availability can vary by season and weather, so it’s worth checking with the hotel if this is something you’re looking forward to using.

🏋️ Fitness Center

There’s also a fitness center for guests who want to get in a workout during their stay. We didn’t use the fitness center during our visit, so we won’t pretend to give it a firsthand rating.

🍳 Complimentary Breakfast

The complimentary breakfast was easily the biggest disappointment of our stay. While the hotel advertises a hot breakfast, most of what we saw seemed more like microwave-style breakfast items than the kind of fresh hot breakfast we were expecting.

There is a restaurant located right beside the hotel, and we couldn’t help but wonder if the limited breakfast selection encourages guests to eat there instead. That’s simply our impression and not something we can say for certain, but the breakfast definitely wasn’t a highlight of our stay.

For us, the location was one of the biggest reasons Lodge at Five Oaks worked so well. The hotel is in Sevierville, along the busy corridor between Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, putting you close to shopping, restaurants, and several popular attractions.

🛍️ Tanger Outlets is one of the biggest advantages. If shopping is part of your weekend plans, this hotel makes a convenient home base. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, so you won’t have to drive far to find somewhere to eat after a day of shopping.

🎢 SkyLand Ranch is another nearby attraction that makes the location appealing. If you’re planning to visit SkyLand Ranch along with shopping and restaurants, Lodge at Five Oaks puts you in a convenient area for that type of trip.

The hotel also gives you access to the larger Pigeon Forge and Sevierville tourist corridor, including restaurants, attractions, and other things to do. However, this isn’t a hotel we’d choose if our main goal was to spend the weekend exploring the Great Smoky Mountains.

For our stay, the location was exactly what we needed. We were looking for a place where we could enjoy shopping, find plenty of restaurants, and visit attractions without spending the entire weekend driving around. For that purpose, Lodge at Five Oaks was a good fit.

After staying at Lodge at Five Oaks, we came away feeling that this is a good hotel for the right kind of trip. Our room was clean, the location worked extremely well for what we wanted to do, and we liked being close to shopping, restaurants, Tanger Outlets, and SkyLand Ranch. We paid $163 for one night on a last-minute booking, and for a short weekend getaway, we felt the hotel delivered what we were looking for.

The biggest disappointment for us was the complimentary breakfast. Although it is advertised as a hot breakfast, we found most of the food to be more like microwave-style breakfast items. The pool-facing first-floor rooms are also something to consider when booking. We stayed in Room 126, and opening the blinds meant looking directly toward the pool area.

What really determines whether we’d recommend Lodge at Five Oaks is the type of vacation you’re planning. If you’re coming to the area for shopping, restaurants, Tanger Outlets, SkyLand Ranch, and other nearby attractions, we’d happily consider staying here again.
